How to Implement CMDB from Scratch

Hello Everyone, I recently received a job offer where I have been hired to implement a CMDB from scratch. The organization has recently deployed ServiceNow and now aims to establish a fully functional CMDB.

I am seeking guidance on the key steps to follow for setting up the CMDB from the ground up. Additionally, I would like to understand best practices and how to sync existing Configuration Items (CIs) from their current tools into the ServiceNow CMDB.

Any insights, frameworks, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

CMDB is one of the core components and the heart of ServiceNow. To implement it effectively and get the most benefits, you first need to understand the customer's infrastructure and its components. You should know which classes are required, how the data will be populated, and what IRE (Identification and Reconciliation) rules need to be in place. The best way to start with CMDB is by creating the necessary structures. As a process consultant, starting with Now Create is a good approach for setting things up
