How to Populate custom field value using patterns

Hi Team,

I have a field which is OOB, and now I dont want to use that OOB field and instead of i have created new fiedld and I want to populate the value in it using patterns. there is already OOB pattern available and it is mapping oob field value through that. now I dont want to fill oob field and instead I want to populate the value in custom field.

can someone help on this?

Hi Ganesh,

One approach would be 

Instead of Editing the identification section steps which would break the pattern from future upgrades,

You can create a step in the extension section in the same pattern .Now fetch the data and set the value to the target field which would be your custom field.

You can hide the OOTB field on the form and add your custom field instead.

Hi Kiran thanks for response.

here the 1st point the fields not on form. just from list view we are seeing values.

the oob functionality is total things = actual installed - working things

I have created a new field called real things installed and replacing with actual installed  field. now we have to calculate the total things as real things installed - working things.

please let me know steps to extension pattern?
