Hi All,
We are planning to slowly decommission our old SN instance as we have moved to new SN instance. There are some modules (custom) in old SN instance which are still active and using CMDB (unmonitored legacy data). Before we decommission old SN instance, we will ensure all the processes/modules are migrated to new instance.
Question is,
1. Is CMDB a paid module, or comes as part of Instance license?
2. Is it possible to decommission CMDB and keep custom modules active until they are fully migrated (meaning keep instance active)? Would this lead to any cost savings (I think it goes back to Q1)?

Hello @varunkumar11863
Since this is License related query, it is best to reach out to ServiceNow Account Manager.
You'll always have the CMDB tables included with the Platform.
The CMDB is a base system table, but for you to systematically populate it using automated methods, you need different subscriptions like an ITOM subscription or Discovery etc...
Please mark the answer as helpful and correct if helped.
Kind Regards,
Ravi

Hi @Ravi Chandra_K , That's my understanding as well, you cannot decommission CMDB until you decommission instance holistically.

Since you are in the migration process, I would still recommend to engage the SN Account team on best practices and the license part.
Kind Regards,
Ravi
