Is it normal to find CMDB relationships where the parent value show empty?

I'm looking at cmdb_rel_ci.list and I find that the parent value shows "(empty)" on many rows. Is that normal? If I right click and select show matching, only one row returns. If I group by Parent, none of them show empty. Is it safe to delete them? It seems a relationship requires at least two elements.

Check that the Parent is populated with a Sys_Id value. Often SN Discovery and other tools will create relationships to CIs where the CI Name field is empty, resulting in the Parent (or Child) value "appearing" to be empty, when there is a CI there, but it has no CI Name.
