Query on identifier entries (Identification rules)

For Windows class, in the Identifier entries, I see that the attributes are mentioned as 'Name and Serial number'.

find_real_file.png

but its not editable. Also I could not see any identifier entries created for Windows class. I can see OOTB its defined only for Hardware class.

How does this work? How to edit the attributes?

Hi

basically you have to go to the class which is mentioned at the field "Search on Table". On that class you can double-click on the tiles to change the attributes.

Kind regards
Maik

@Maik Skoddow Thank you. So I had to search for Computer table where I can able to edit.

But why is this Identifier entry not found in the Identifier table

find_real_file.png

Not applicable

The windows server rule may derive from a parent classes rule.  For example here is the OOTB identification rules for a windows server:
find_real_file.png

As you can see this in the top bar this is a derived rule and everything is read only.  If we navigate up to the hardware rule you will see the read only is gone:

find_real_file.png

In order toi modify the rules you would either need to make changes at the level the rule is derived from, or replace the derived rule with your own (replace button after the derived label).

Thank you @jgates  🙂
