I'm planning to register for the Data Foundations exam within the coming weeks and would like to know which areas I should focus on to pass this exam with no issues.
Also, which specific areas in the platform should I be very keenly familiar with to perform better at this exam.
Any other important tips and resources to refer are also welcome!

There are numerous blogs and resources written by community members, and I’m sharing a few useful links here. However, the single source of truth should be the official training available through Now Learning. ServiceNow states that exam questions are based on its official training materials and product documentation.
This exam is not easy—it requires you to understand the concepts, not just memorise answers. Practical experience is equally important.
My recommendation:
- Complete the official training in Now Learning.
- Do all the hands-on labs provided as part of the training.
- Read the training material at least 2–3 times and make sure you understand the concepts.
- Spend time working in a PDI/developer instance and actually try the features yourself.
- Explore Workspaces, lists, forms, and other key areas of the platform to understand how things work in practice.
- Use ServiceNow Community blogs and discussions as additional resources, not as the primary source.
- Spend dedicated time exploring the platform before attempting the exam.
The official CSA blueprint also recommends real-world experience and practice in a ServiceNow instance.
In short: Training → Labs → Read → Practice in PDI → Explore → Repeat. Take your time and focus on understanding why something works, not just what the answer is.

Thank you. Follow up question, does the SNow release version matter when it comes to following courses and requesting PDIs in preparation for this? Should I be focusing on material from the Australia release?

Actually the core structural logic tested on this exam has remained stable across recent releases. So the family release version does not drastically affect your preparation for the CIS - Data Foundations exam.

Governance (CMDB Health, Data Manager, Attestation) 35%
Insight (Query Builder, CSDM Dashboard, Impact Analysis) 20%
Ingestion (IRE, Connectors, IntegrationHub ETL, Multisource) 19%
Configuration (CI Class Manager, Principal Classes) 15%
Logistics & General Platform Knowledge 11%
