Windows Servers discovered as Computer during after initial discovery runs

Hi,

We could see couple of VMWare Windows servers discovered/Captured during first discovery as Computer, IP router & IP Switch classes. May I know the reason for this and how can we solve this issue and ensure the device will capture in correct class.

You need to check "Windows" under "CI classification" . This type of issues occur when your windows server is at some operating system not defined in CI classifications.

In that case the classifier of highest order runs and classifies it as computer. "cmdb_ci_computer" class classifier has order 99999. You may need to create a new classifier as per the conditions or configurations of your server. You can insert and stay an OOB classifier and change your conditions accordingly.
