I am trying to prevent automatic generation of Asset Tags for AI System Digital Asset records.
Base table: alm_asset
Inherited field: asset_tag
Target table: alm_ai_system_digital_asset
Application shown on the override: Expanded Model and Asset Classes
Inherited field: asset_tag
Target table: alm_ai_system_digital_asset
Application shown on the override: Expanded Model and Asset Classes
I opened the dictionary entry for alm_asset.asset_tag and attempted to create a Dictionary Entry Override for alm_ai_system_digital_asset. However, when I submit the override, the platform displays the following error:
Invalid insert
I tested overriding the default value and display value, but the override record itself is not created.
The AI System Digital Asset table is part of the AI asset inventory and records can be created through AI Control Tower intake. The intake creates the Digital Asset and associated Product Model and defaults asset-tracking information.
Could someone please advise:
- Is creation of dictionary overrides restricted for tables in the Expanded Model and Asset Classes application?
- Does the override need to be created in a particular application scope?
- Is asset_tag populated by separate Asset Management logic, such as a Business Rule, Flow, or numbering process, rather than by the dictionary default?
- What is the supported, upgrade-safe way to stop Asset Tag generation only for alm_ai_system_digital_asset, without affecting other classes extending alm_asset?
