I have enabled "Enable Life Cycle Sync" under Life cycle mappings table in CSDM. All the data are now synced and automatically populated with Life cycle stage and Life cycle stage status values mapped in the Life cycle mappings table. After the sync, I'm manually updating one of the table record's operational status from operational to Retired, but the life cycle stage and life cycle stage status are not updated automatically. As per my understanding, the life cycle stage and life cycle stage status should be automatically updating by the system if any change occurs to the operational status/install status/hardware status (whatever the mappings defined in Life cycle mappings table). I have installed Activate the CSDM Activation (com.snc.cmdb.csdm.activation) plugin. as per the https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/yokohama-servicenow-platform/page/product/configuration-manag....
Can anybody please help where I'm missing, and do I have to enable any other configurations to work this mechanism.

Hi Pravitha,
Is Product Instance 2.0 turned on in your instance?
According to the CSDM 5 white paper this will disable any legacy field sync.
"NOTE: Once enabled, PI2.0 will DISABLE any previous synchronization efforts between legacy CI
statuses and Life Cycle Stage & Stage Status on."
Additionally it states
"NOTE: There is no rush to use/migrate the new Life Cycle functionality. A mapping capability from/to
the legacy state/status attributes is available to populate the Life Cycle fields from legacy values but
no ongoing synchronization will occur after the Xanadu family release. It is recommended to evaluate
your dependencies on the legacy state/status attributes prior to enabling and migrating into the new
CSDM Life Cycle capability. These dependencies may include but are not limited to reporting, scripts,
business rules, and third-party integrations. Some product features such as CMDB Data Manager do
require the mapping to be enabled, v. Verify requirements with the features and / products you
intend to use."
Hope this helps.

Hi @Pravitha
Watch this ServiceNow YouTube video from 28:39 on - it explains what's changed, and why some updates no longer sync (in short, Lifecycles sync with either other, but if your CI is not linked to an Asset, status changes won't sync to their mapped Lifecycle stage/stage status).

I hope this helps!

When you install CSDM activation you also deactivate the sync jobs. They were not working properly.
The best advise is to go through your forms, scripts and integrations and fully move to life cycle.
Most of the tools (CMDB tools and Service Builder) operates on life cycle so you need to switch anyway at some time.
