Hi @Suggy ,
Certainly, your observation about Netflix's "streaming" being both a Business Service and a Business Capability is accurate. Let's delve deeper into this example and explore a few more instances to clarify the distinction between Business Services and Business Capabilities:
### **Netflix Example:**
**1. Business Service: Streaming Content Service**
- **Description:** Provides users with access to a vast library of movies, TV shows, and original content through streaming technology.
- **Attributes:**
- **Owner:** Netflix Content Team
- **Criticality:** High
- **Dependencies:** Content Delivery Network, User Authentication Service
- **Description:** Delivers high-quality streaming content to users across various devices, ensuring a seamless viewing experience.
**2. Business Capability: Content Delivery Capability**
- **Description:** Represents Netflix's ability to efficiently deliver content to users' devices, ensuring minimal buffering and high-quality playback.
- **Attributes:**
- **Owner:** Netflix Technology Team
- **Criticality:** Medium
- **Dependencies:** Streaming Infrastructure, Network Optimization Capability
- **Description:** Manages the global network of servers and content delivery points, optimizing data transmission for streaming content across regions.
**Additional Examples:**
**3. Business Service: Customer Support Service**
- **Description:** Provides customer assistance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Netflix users.
- **Attributes:**
- **Owner:** Netflix Customer Support Team
- **Criticality:** High
- **Dependencies:** Knowledge Base System, Ticketing System
- **Description:** Offers 24/7 customer support to address user inquiries, billing concerns, and technical issues promptly.
**4. Business Capability: Personalization and Recommendation Capability**
- **Description:** Netflix's ability to analyze user preferences and behavior to provide personalized content recommendations.
- **Attributes:**
- **Owner:** Netflix Data Science Team
- **Criticality:** High
- **Dependencies:** Big Data Analytics Platform, Machine Learning Algorithms
- **Description:** Utilizes machine learning algorithms to analyze viewing patterns, enabling personalized content recommendations tailored to individual users.
**Distinction:**
- **Business Service:** Focuses on delivering specific value to customers or end-users. It directly addresses users' needs and provides tangible outcomes, such as streaming content or customer support.
- **Business Capability:** Represents the organization's ability to perform a set of related activities or functions. It is more abstract and encompasses various services, processes, and technologies. In this case, the Content Delivery Capability and Personalization and Recommendation Capability are overarching abilities that include multiple services and technologies working together.
In summary, while "streaming" can be seen as a service, it is also a capability that involves multiple services and technologies working cohesively to provide a seamless streaming experience, thereby illustrating both the Business Service and Business Capability aspects.

This is a great question. I have also seen confusion between providing a business capability vs needing a business process. I saw somewhere that sometimes it is just a matter of how you describe it
Provide streaming to a multi-range of end point devices = business capability
Streaming management services = business service
I am very interested in what others think.
