Mapping multiple companies to the same CI

We have several hundred CIs, ranging from Infrastructure CIs (Servers, Network Gear) through to Business Services that can be consumed / used by multiple companies.
For context, we’ve used Offerings to distinguish between “company A” and "company B” etc but this has resulted in what I feel is an over proliferation of Offerings in our CMDB. We have also thought of using subscribed by Company, however this only applies to Services.
I’m interested in if there is any “Best Practice” way on how to capture this using CSDM?

Hi Aaron

Interested scenario, this was exactly what we designed and implemented on a global MSP - some years back. Try to contact ServiceNow, @jeremy hess, he runs the MSP - for service providers, ServiecNow have a standard architecture to support this.

My take, is that you need to link services toigether, not sure, this is CSDM Standard, but on each service level you need to define subscribed companies, this was what we need some years back.

Ex. Application offering

  • Subscribed by Company A, B, C

Depends on::Used by Service Offering Subsrcibed by Company A, and Company B

Depends on: Used by Service Offering subscribed by Company C

Here you should be able to answer the question, show me all CI's and Services, subscribed by Company C.

Good luck
