"Duplicate of" field

I am trying to populate "Duplicate of" field (of cmdb_ci) on Application Service form ( Table:cmdb_ci_service_discovered).

However after saving the record the field disappears. I have checked every Business rule on it but does anyone has any idea?

it should not be, i tested on my personal instance. it's not clearing for me. 

i am assuming you are not setting it as parent.duplicate_of field. 

you can set directly "duplicate of" field on AS form.

I was just wondering as what is the actual description of "Duplicate Of" field and what effect does it make apart from saving data of Service in this field. 

Like anything on Business Application side.

Any documentation you came across for this?
