Hello Everyone,
I’m working on mapping a Technical Service Offering (TSO) under a Technology Management Service (TMS). I’ve set the Parent of the Service Offering to be the desired Technology Management Service. However, this relationship is not visible in the Relationship Map or Dependency View.
When I open the Dependency Map:
I can see a reference from the TMS to the Service Offering.
However, no relationships are shown underneath the Service Offering.
From the Service Offering perspective, I only see its relationships with Application Instances and upstream components, but not with the Technology Management Service.
My question:
Do I need to manually create a relationship between the Technical Service Offering and the Technology Management Service (e.g., via CI relationships like "Provides::Provided by"), or is there another configuration step required to make this connection visible in the dependency maps?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @JagodaS
The answer to this is that the dependency views is designed to work with records on the CI Relationship [cmdb_rel_ci] table, but the relationship between a Service and a Service Offering is a reference (Parent field on Service Offering).
This is the reason why, from a Configuration Item that is part of a Dynamic CI Group, that you cannot see which Dynamic CI Groups it is linked to, nor their parent Service Offering or grandparent Service.
When you run Dependency views from the Service you will be able to see Offerings and connections, but not from the Service downwards - you only see the Service Offering. This is achieved via a Map related item but that only works for the Service to Service Offering relationship - not the rest of the map.
ServiceNow's answer is to use Unified Map in CMDB Workspace. The legacy views will likely never be updated as ServiceNow moves more and more to Workspaces.
I hope this helps!
