SOAP Integration in Flow Designer using MID Server and Basic Authentication

Hi Everyone,

I am working on a SOAP integration in ServiceNow using Flow Designer. The external SOAP service uses Basic Authentication, and the requests need to be sent through a MID Server.

So far, I have:

  • Created the SOAP Message from the WSDL.

  • Configured Basic Authentication on the SOAP Message.

Now I want to invoke this SOAP Message from Flow Designer using the SOAP action. However, the SOAP step asks for the following:

  • Connection

  • Connection Alias

I have a few questions:

  1. Do I need to create a Connection and Connection & Credential Alias separately, even though Basic Authentication is already configured on the SOAP Message?

  2. How do I associate the SOAP Message with the Connection/Connection Alias?

  3. How can I pass dynamic values from the Flow into the SOAP function input parameters?

  4. Is there any end-to-end documentation or example that explains the recommended approach for SOAP integrations using Flow Designer, Basic Authentication, and a MID Server?

Any guidance or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
