Excel.xml format file is not supporting on ESC?

We are unable to upload Excel files in .xml format to ESC. All attachment properties have been validated, and no restrictions are in place. Please let us know whether this behavior is out of the box or if additional configuration is required.

Hi,

This behavior is out of the box in ServiceNow.

Excel files are treated as generic XML attachments. For security reasons, ServiceNow restricts XML uploads, especially in areas like ESC, even when attachment properties (size, extensions, UI policies) appear to allow them

Recommended options:

1)Save the file as .xlsx - preferred and supported

2)Zip the .xml file and upload it

Why would you have Excel file with .XML extension to it?

It should have either XLS or XLSX extension.
