All clients don't need Now Assist, can we limit the Now Assist icon on the banner to a role?

Not all our clients need to see the Now Assist icon in the banner.

Is there a way to limit the view to a specific role?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi All and thanks for the responses.

We have performed our own modifications to make the 'sparkle' not be visible to all our users and some of you may find this helpful.

First, we removed the contained role 'now_assist_panel_user' from the itil role. This is the first step to get there.

Then we ran a fix script to remove the 'now_assist_panel_user' role from every user that it may still be assigned to. After deleting the role from itil it was still in almost every user's account.

This basically made itil users not see the 'sparkle' in the header anymore.

Once this was completed, we created and assigned a new role that we put into specific groups that needed it.

This allowed the group members to see and use the 'sparkle' in the header.

I hope this helps others in the working of Now Assist.

Again, thanks for the feedback.

Hi @Marshall Day1 ,

Role "now_assist_panel_user" is required to access the Now Assist Chat Panel. You can add/remove role to the users to provide/remove access.

Now Assist panel • Zurich Enable AI • Docs | ServiceNow

Thanks
