Changing Column Label for OOB fields for Accounts , Contact , Account Team members

My business stakeholders have requested changes to the column labels in the Account, Contact, and Account Team Members objects.

For instance:

  1. The OOB label in the Account object is "Name" and "Number." The suggestion is to update it to "Account Name" and "Account Number."

  2. Similarly, for the Account Team Members object, we plan to utilize the OOB fields for First Name and Last Name sourced from the Users object as a reference field. The business proposes changing the Column Labels to "User First Name" and "User Last Name." in Users table so we can utilize same column labels in Account Team members as reference fields

Is it recommended to modify the Column Labels?

Please note: The proposed changes pertain specifically to updating the Column Labels rather than altering technical column names within tables.

Changing the labels will not cause any technical issues, but create skipped records in the next upgrade. And be aware of that after the change the labels doesn't match anymore the ServiceNow documentation, thus making it hard for your users to read and understand it.
