CSM partner to partner relationship type

I am trying to work through a partner to partner relationship type that isn't working as I expected it to work.

The requirement is for two companies should be able to see each others install base items as well as create cases/requests for them.

The only relationship available is partner to account, which allows one company to be a customer of the other; one-way viewing and record creation by the "from" company. I created a partner to partner relationship type expecting to get a two-way, but that was also a one-way relationship with the "from" company also having the viewing/creation rights.

We tried to put Company A on the "from" side of partner to partner and then create another relationship with Company B on the "from" side of partner to partner, but the second record is an invalid insert.

We managed to get it working by leveraging both relationship types. We put Company A on the "from" side of partner to account, then we put Company B on the "from" side of the partner to partner. Both companies could view and create for the other company; no invalid insert because they are two separate relationship types, but this feels like a work around not a solution.

Is there a better option?

Use the account relationship. https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-customer-service-management/page/product/customer-servi...

Going to the Customer Service > Customer > Accounts

Open the Parent Account (ABC Corp) in this case,  under the related list check for the  Contact Relationship open (sn_customerservice_contact_relationship) and the choose the Contact and select desired relationship

Thank for your reply.

I don't think this will work for me as these are two individual companies that partner with each other. They do not share team members or contacts, one is not a parent over the other. They are affiliates and have a common stake in the install base items.
