Knowledge Search Properties - glide.knowman.search.instant_results

What does it mean when you enable Instant search for Knowledge in ServiceNow. I have found this: glide.knowman.search.instant_results, and the only thing the help says is 'Select the check box to enable instant search for search results. The default value is set to No.'

 

I have tried to enable it in my testenvironment, but are not able to se any difference if it is enabled or disabled.

 

So what should I be looking for for testing, anyone knows? and would it be in the portal, agent workspace, backend, all?

There are many uses of enabling instant search:

1. Allow Instant Search On Keypress : Enables instant search results as you type a search term. The default for the search results page uses the system property.

2. Wait time (ms) between searches, if instant search is enabled : The time, in milliseconds, to wait between searches if the instant search feature is enabled. The default wait time is 500 ms.

thank you very much, can you elaborate your answer from 1.. I am asking, because it does not seem to work for me. I assume that I should get results along the way when I am typing, and the more I write, the results should decrease.

 

Could you show me an excample for how it is supposed to work?

By the way, I can se I have marked the version to be Quebec, but we are actually running Rome, if that makes any difference 🙂
