Unable to make a field mandatory on a case form

Hi, 

 

Unable to set the "system" field mandatory. The mandatory field accessed via form design is set to read only. Checked ui policy, client script, acl and business rule but field how this field was set to read only. please help

Tried to change the "advanced" view its locked in defaults when I change view. 

 

It's possible that someone did but that person is not here, so I am stuck is there a way to override this?

then directly check in the dictionary override table [sys_dictionary_override] if someone made that field read-only for your table

No, the system field is still not set to mandatory. Attempted the recommended steps but still not able to update the field. 

I feel like the issue is not related to Dictionary override.

Check whether the the table where System field is configured is in different scope. If yes, switch to that scope and check
