Creating CWM Sprints from EAP

Working in my PDI, I created an EAP Configuration for basic Agile teams that has Stories and Features for Work Item Structure and Story for Default Work Item and Sprint for the Planning Calendar.  I added a team and set the Team Agile Tool to CWM.

When I go into CWM and switch the view to Sprint Planning I get a message that sprints for this board are managed in EAP.  When I go to that team's area in EAP it only allows me to create new stories or features.  If I go into the details of that team (from list > EAP Teams > Scrum Teams) I have a tap for Enterprise Agile Iterations where I can add capacity and see the committed points, completed point, etc.  However, I don't see where to set the start/end dates of the sprint or the length of the sprint.

Even when I save this Enterprise Agile Iteration, it still tells me I don't have any sprints configured for this team.  Where / how do I configure sprints for non-SAFe Agile Teams that are not on an ART and don't participate in Big Room PI Planning?

Hi,

Iterations (sprints & PIs) are created in a two-step process in EAP.  Within EAP, there is a settings page where an EAP Admin can define the PI and sprint periods. This can be done in bulk by creating the PI - which will also generate the sprints (using default durations).

Once the iterations are defined by the EAP Admin, then an EAP User can go to the ART level (or group of teams) to create the PI for that grouping and the sprints for the teams underneath.  If any of those teams are connected to CWM, the sprints will by sync'd.

Let me know if you have any more questions,

@Scott Townsend1   These teams are agile, but not SAFe and do not work in PIs.  They just run in continuous 2 or 3 week iterations/sprints.   For example, our HRIS team that does our Workday development.  They work in Stories and Sprints but are not related to any of our ARTs.  Once in a while they may do work to support some of our other efforts that may be related to a project that also involves our ART Teams, so we want them in EAP along with all of our other teams for Resource and Capacity planning.  Do I need to create a massive PI with 26 sprints in it for each year for them?
