Hi All,
I wanted to have a board for GIS team, where they can work on their specific task.
I am creating RITMs for GIS team through Catalog item.
But Most of the variables are not visible under the CWM board.
is there any way I can add those fields in the board.(1. From Gear icon, those fields are not visible; 2. Custom column will not work in my case, As Fileds value is already coming from Item, but I can't show them in the board)
Secondly I want to have SCTASK related List when i open the RITM on the right pane. How I can Add teh related list?
Thankyou for your help in advance.
Regards,
Mohit Saxena

Hi @MohitSaxena ,
I think there are actually two different things happening here.
For the first part, the reason you cannot find those values from the gear icon is that Catalog Variables are not normal fields on the Requested Item [sc_req_item] table. They are stored separately and displayed on the RITM through the Variable Editor. ServiceNow documents that the variable values come from the catalog option tables rather than being regular RITM columns.
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/servicenow-platform/service-catalog/service-catalog-variable-edito...
CWM Connected Work, on the other hand, works with actual fields from the connected table. ServiceNow says that if you want additional fields from a connected work item to appear in CWM, you configure the form view for that table.
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/it-business-management/collaborative-work-management/connect-work-...
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/yokohama/it-business-management/collaborative-work-management/conf...
So unfortunately, adding the Variable Editor to the RITM form will not automatically make individual Catalog Variables available as CWM Board columns.
For important variables that the GIS team really needs to see and filter on every day, I would probably create actual fields on the RITM and populate them from the Catalog Item/Flow.
For example:
- GIS Region
- Environment
- Request Type
- Location
Then those become real sc_req_item fields and can be exposed naturally in CWM.
Another option is to map Catalog Variable values into CWM custom columns, but that requires additional logic.
CWM custom columns are local to the Board and are not automatically bound to the Catalog Variables, so your concern about duplicating the data is valid. ServiceNow documents that these custom columns belong specifically to the Board.
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/it-business-management/collaborative-work-management/add-custom-co...
For the second question about showing the SCTASK related list inside the RITM side panel, I don't see an OOB CWM configuration for that today.
The documented CWM configuration controls the fields shown in the side panel.
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/yokohama/it-business-management/collaborative-work-management/conf...?
It does not expose traditional form related lists there.
The cleanest OOB option would therefore be to use Open full details from the CWM panel and show the Catalog Tasks related list on the normal RITM form.
ServiceNow explicitly supports opening the original connected record from CWM for additional details and updates.
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/it-business-management/collaborative-work-management/update-detail...
Technically you could investigate adding a related-list/data component through UI Builder, but then you are customizing the CWM experience.
I would avoid doing that unless displaying SCTASKs directly in the side panel is a strong business requirement, especially because CWM is still evolving quite quickly.
So my approach would be:
promote the few important Catalog Variables to real RITM fields for the Board, and use the full RITM form for the SCTASK related list.
That keeps the solution much closer to OOB and easier to maintain.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mohit,
There are two separate configurations here.
For the Catalog Item variables, you generally can't add them to the CWM board as normal RITM fields because catalog variables are stored separately from the sc_req_item fields.
Since your CWM item is created from a Catalog Item, use CWM Custom Columns and map the required Catalog Item variables to those columns. This approach is specifically supported for mapping Catalog Item variables to CWM task columns.
For example:
Catalog Item Variable >> CWM Custom Column >> CWM Board
For the SCTASK list in the right pane, configure the Record Page/Workspace in UI Builder and add a related list/data table for sc_task using the RITM as the parent/context. Workspace-related lists are controlled by the Workspace UI rather than the traditional form related-list configuration.
So the recommended approach is:
This keeps the solution within the CWM/Workspace configuration rather than adding unnecessary custom fields or scripting.

Hi Mohit,
Those tables are not OOTB CWM tables. They are created as part of the customization shown in the video.
In that approach, you need to create the mapping tables first and then use them to map:
Catalog Item >> CWM Board
RITM fields >> CWM Task fields
Catalog Item variables >> CWM custom columns
That's why you won't find sn_cwm_board_catalog_mapping or sn_cwm_catalog_to_task_mapping in a standard CWM installation.
If you want to stay OOTB, share your current CWM version/release and the exact fields you need to display, and the approach can be checked without introducing unnecessary custom tables.

Hi @sachinvic
Thanks for your reply,
I see my issue to map catalog item field with CWM board could be resolve with "sn_cwm_board_catalog_mapping_list" & "sn_cwm_catalog_to_task_mapping_list" tables mentioned in this YT video www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMMo7kWbikg
use the id to watch YT video, I couldn't post HTTP link
But I do not find these tables, could you please help me in this.
