What triggers the bars to show up in the Gantt chart for a task?

I seem to have different task types like Project Tasks, Catalog Tasks, and Incidents where some show a bar on the Gantt chart  and some don't despite having dates in the same date range as the Gantt chart that's displayed. What are the requirements for a task type to have the dates show up on the Gantt chart in CWM?

Hi Marlon,
Currently as we have to support all kinds of tasks, we are relying on the task's start(internal field expected_start) and end date(due_date). But the same fields are primary ones in all the tables. And hence it may only show for few tables in gantt.
Ex: Project task's primary dates are Planned start date and Planned end date. Some tables will have labels as start date & end date but internal fields will be different. 

However as an end user, its a fair expectation to see gantt timeline when you have some flavour of start date and end dates on the task record. 

We are trying to make this seamless and configurable in the coming releases. We have done something similar at "My work" level.

Currently, the Gantt chart in CWM relies on the task's Expected Start (expected_start) and Due Date (due_date) fields to determine whether a task is displayed on the timeline. While these fields exist across task tables, they are not always the primary scheduling fields for every task type.

For example, Project Tasks primarily use Planned Start Date and Planned End Date, whose internal field names differ from expected_start and due_date. As a result, even if the task has valid scheduling dates, it may not appear on the Gantt chart if those dates are stored in different fields.

At the moment, this is a known limitation because CWM needs to support multiple task types with different date field implementations. The team is working on making the date mapping more seamless and configurable in future releases, similar to the approach already implemented in My Work.
