Hey y’all! 🤠 We’re back and better than ever with another #BuildWith Challenge - this time focused on Robotic Process Automation (RPA)! Harness the power of bots to automate repetitive tasks, boost efficiency, and unlock human creativity. Excited? Intrigued??? Well, then join us in this year's #BuildWithRPA Challenge and experience the future of automation firsthand.

In case you need a refresher on last year’s challenge, #BuildWithAES Challenge saw impressive participation from you, our Community. 171 participants created 335 pieces of content on App Engine Studio that garnered over 29,000 views, shares, and reactions. 🤯 A round of applause and kudos to all of you who participated! 👏🏻 Moving forward, we will be hosting a #BuildWith challenge each fall to spark innovation and showcase features and capabilities across the Now Platform.

So, What Exactly Does RPA Do?

Consider the ServiceNow Robotic Process Automation Hub (RPA Hub) as the central processing unit of a well-oiled machine. This hub commands a collection of high-tech robots that diligently execute manual digital processes at scale. These robots are best suited for automating UI-based tasks such as extracting data from spreadsheets or updating user information in a legacy HR system. Beforehand, legacy systems without APIs were unreachable to the web-based ServiceNow platform; with RPA that is no longer the case! RPA Hub also acts as a supervisor, keeping a close eye on both your attended and unattended robots to ensure they’re functioning properly.

Without further ado, let's kick this challenge off by taking a look at some of the ways RPA has benefitted our Community.  ⬇️

But don’t take their word for it. We've designed this challenge to give you a hands-on experience with RPA and help you discover all the advantages it can offer.

What’s in It for You?

By participating, you will earn a #BuildWithRPA Community badge and even get your hands on a 2023 CreatorCon t-shirt. If you missed out on snagging this exclusive tee at Knowledge, or haven't yet claimed your CreatorCon t-shirt, seize this chance to make it yours!

Hello @laurenmcman,

Here is my participation in the #BuildWithRPA challenge.

Corporate idea:

We can make an RPA bot to download any application with the help of a Catalog request. This bot is designed to fetch applications from a trusted source that our IT team has already set up. This way, we ensure that the applications we download are safe and won't harm our computers with viruses or malware. It's like having a trustworthy helper to get apps for us without any worries about security issues.

Crazy Idea:

Picture an incredible RPA, using the power of automation, seamlessly connecting with ServiceNow. This RPA would ensure that you receive heartfelt wishes via email on your birthday or work anniversary. It wouldn't stop there! It would also involve your managers and colleagues, making you feel incredibly special, and giving your team a reason to celebrate.

Excited to share my ideas after completing #BuildWithRPA!

Corporate Idea : Many businesses, especially larger corporations, deal with a multitude of vendors and suppliers. Managing the onboarding of new vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies, and handling ongoing vendor management can be time-consuming and prone to errors when done manually. Instead a bot can help us achieving our tasks quickly and efficiently.

Crazy Idea: Weekend planning bot drives people crazy by planning their weekends with any of the happening activities, events or trips based on weather and climate around them😎 .

I am excited to announce that I have successfully completed the #BuildWithRPA challenge. It was a remarkable journey through the realm of Robotic Process Automation.

Corporate Idea
Clinical Documentation: RPA can automate the process of clinical documentation and managing patient appointments. This can free up physcians/nurses and other healthcare providers to focus on patient care.

Crazy Idea
Automate Service Desk Assistance: RPA can be used to automate customer service tasks, such as answering questions, resolving issues, and processing refunds. This could free up customer service representatives to focus on more complex cases and provide better service to customers

Excited to see where RPA can take us! #BuildWithRPA

Hello Everyone!!

I have completed the #BuildWithRPA challenge. This helped me to enhance my knowledge about RPA Hub.

Corporate Idea: Sending automated messages to family and friends.

Description: We can use RPA to automate the process of birthday or festival messages to friends and family without any manual effort. we can bring the birthday calendar from Facebook and the festival calendar from Google, and customise the template for both notifications. To send messages we can use Whatsapp API.

Crazy Idea: This automation will not forget birthdays (Especially in-law's birthday)

Hello Everyone,

I have successfully completed the #BuildWithRPA challenge from ServiceNow. It gives a great insight regarding the prowess of RPA Hub.
The two ideas that I would like to share here.
Corporate Idea 🕵‍ :
As we fill in the timesheets every week manually, that process can be automated using RPA Bots where the headache of searching for the code and filling in the hours at appropriate date boxes can be avoided. The bots would just need to get the leaves that we have taken and the appropriate code for the week and the rest it can take care of on its own.
Crazy Idea 🤓:
Healthcare Management: -
RPA Bots can be utilised in streamlining ambulance services for the patients from remote areas with very less accessibility. In hospitals, getting an ambulance service could become a hectic & tedious process. Depending on the patient diagnosis, severity, location details etc, providing the ambulance transportation(includes required vehicle, basic care facilities inside) can be facilitated by training the bots accordingly. Along with this, doctor appointment scheduling/hospital bill claim settlements can also be automated.

Hello @laurenmcman
I am excited to participate in the #BuildWithRpa challenge. I am happy to share that I have successfully completed the #BuildWithRpa challenge.

Corporate Idea : Whenever a guest visits the office there is a manual process of collecting the details of the guest and generating QR for entry to the office which is done manually. Instead of that we can use any RPA bot to integrate it with any self registration tool where the QR will be generated automatically and can be used as an automated way of entry for the guests in the office.

Crazy idea: We all have our list of groceries saved in our phones what we can do is use an RPA bot and pass in the details of the list and the bot can order the groceries at the beginning of every month and save a lot of time.

Excited to see what RPA has in store for us. Below is the screenshot of my completed lab.

Thanks ServiceNow for such an amazing product.
