Smart Lead Routing Assistant: Built with ServiceNow Build Agent || #BuildWithBuildAgent Challenge

As part of the #BuildWithBuildAgent challenge, I recently created an application called Smart Lead Routing Assistant, a fully functional, AI-augmented lead management solution built entirely using ServiceNow’s Build Agent.

Sales teams across industries face similar operational challenges:

• Lead assignment is often manual

• Reps are overloaded without visibility

• High-value opportunities may be delayed or overlooked

• Workload distribution remains inefficient

With the rise of AI and automated workflows, there is a strong need for an intelligent, adaptive routing engine.
That became the foundation of this project.

🔹 Overview of the Solution

Smart Lead Routing Assistant automatically analyzes, and assigns leads to the best-fit salesperson based on:

• Skill alignment

• Geographic region

• Current workload

• Historical conversion performance

To further enhance decision-making, the application incorporates Now Assist to generate an AI score for every lead, making routing decisions faster, smarter, and more consistent.

🔹 Key Capabilities of the Application

1. AI-Based Lead Scoring
Each newly created lead receives an AI score that reflects its potential priority and complexity, helping teams focus on high-impact opportunities.

2. Intelligent Lead Assignment
Build Agent generated the complete logic to automatically assign a lead to the most suitable salesperson, reducing manual effort and improving routing accuracy.

3. Lead Creation & Management UI
A structured, easy-to-use interface allows Marketing teams to:

• Create new leads

• Review lead data

• View AI-score indicators

• Track assignment details and status

🔹 Initial Prompt Used in Build Agent

The entire application was created using a single natural language prompt:

“Build an application called Smart Lead Routing Assistant that routes leads to the best salesperson based on skill, geography, workload, and past conversion performance. Use Now Assist to generate an AI score, send notifications to the assigned salesperson, and provide an interactive UI with lead creation, lead list with AI indicators, salesperson capacity overview, manual reassignment options, and a workspace for Marketing. Create all required tables, forms, views, flows, and workspace pages.”

The application was ready within minutes, requiring only final refinements and minor UI adjustments.

With just a simple prompt, the ServiceNow Build Agent created a sophisticated Idea Submission Portal within minutes. It automatically generated the tables and fields, making the setup incredibly fast and efficient.

To complement this, I manually designed the Flow Designer workflows, ensuring the portal seamlessly routes ideas for governance approval.

This initiative by the ServiceNow team is truly impressive—it showcases how AI can accelerate development and empower creators to innovate without getting stuck in repetitive tasks.
