Ability to open mobile app from email notification

Does anyone know if ServiceNow supports the "openURL" method in their iOS mobile app? I haven't been able to find any information on that, the "canOpenURL" method, or whether there is an entry in the application's Info.plist file that would define a URL scheme. Examples: http://wiki.akosma.com/IPhone_URL_Schemes#Apple_iPhone_Applications

Essentially I would like to add an additional link in my internal email notifications that would allow users to click and open the ServiceNow mobile app (not CMS or service portal) instead of the link taking them to the browser and opening the full SN interface. I will be rolling out mobile app push notifications in the near future, but this would fill the current need and be useful if a user receives an email and wants to go directly to the record within the mobile app.

Hi Erik,

At this point, that functionality is not available. Our product team is aware of it, but I have no additional information when it will included in any platform release. Sorry.

Anyone know if this has been developed yet? My IT leader really wants this functionality.   Thanks!

Hi Becky,

It is not in the latest release (Istanbul.) I have not heard if it is targeted for Jakarta (due out in calendar Q2 2017) or not.

Dear Erik

We had a similar requirement. What we have done is redirecting the users to either play store on android pointing it to the App and on IOS we take them to the app on apple store.

Try my link below and utilize it on the notification. There is one problem with the latest version of IOS, it takes you to safari rather than Apple store as it requires Java to be enabled manually on the phone.
