Add Child of Incidents to Problem tickets

Hi all,

 

We may attach a parent incident to a problem. Is there a way to add the list of child incidents to the problem? These are incidents where they are only attached to the parent - not the problem. Only the parent would be attached to the problem.

That’s the best way. If you are already mapping a parent incident to a problem, then it is best to link the child incident from the parent incident. This way, you can use the related list effectively.

Thank you - so is it that you would need to link both the parent and the problem to each incident? It would be more more ideal that only the parent is linked as that would obviously save linking multiple. 

Maybe there's a way to configure a report/dashboard to give that information?

Yes, the best approach is to link the parent incident to the problem record, and then everything will be set.

If there is no parent incident, you can use the Related List to add the incident.

child incidents linked to parent cannot be shown in related list OOTB as the linkage is with respect to parent field

You can create a defined related list to show child incidents

ServiceNow create custom Related List | ServiceNow Related list using relationship | Servicenow ease
