We would like to be able to add screen shots (pasted from clipboard) to Service Now in the Comments and Work notes sections of an incident (task table). Is there a best practice for this?
I changed the field type to HTLM and it seems to work. The only challenge I am having so far is the image stays in the field after I save/update. Is there a way to clear out the field after the form is saved so new comments can be added?
Anyone else using this method to attach screen shots? Anything I should watch out for?
Thanks so much!!

If you change the field type, you risk loosing data. As you've noted, the values stay there because they are no longer Journal fields (or journal input fields) so they aren't logging to the activity history. I recommend you not change the field type of comments and work notes.
Instead, help people to learn about attachments. Image attachments will show up in the activity history automatically like this:

HI Chuck, I'm implementing ServiceNow Tokyo to go live at the end of the month. Im quite shocked to read that you cant paste a screen shot, or if a user emails in a screen shot it is not displayed in the Activities.
I see your asking for attachments but how is this end user friendly to ask them to capture an error, save it, then email it, it is not.
is there any plans to enable this in upcoming releases as I see this as quite a hindrance to the end user experience?
Many Thanks

Thanks Chuck. We currently use the image attachment feature, but it would be so much simpler to add a comment with a screen shot. In my testing the comments and screen shots do display in the activity. and even delivers in the email correctly. It was just the field containing the previous screen shot that needs to be removed so a new comment/screen can be added.
Sounds like this isn't recommended, so I'll table this idea. Thanks for your help!!
