After upgrading from the Vancouver version to Xandu, the end user is unable to view the dashboard ?

Hi All,

I am new to ServiceNow, can you please help me on this issue related to the Dashboard.

After upgrading from the Vancouver version to Xandu, the end user is unable to view the dashboard report, even after being granted access. I have provided the 'pa_admin,' 'report_user,' and 'report_admin' roles, but when I impersonate the end user, the error message 'Access to this content denied based on report_view ACLs' is still displayed.
How can I achieve this issue.

Advance Thanks.

It sounds like the report_view ACLs may have been enabled after your upgrade. You can try following the support article for troubleshooting: https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB1639061

I would also recommend making use of "Access Analyzer" (https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-platform-security/page/integrate/identity/task/use-acce...) . With dashboards and reports there are multiple levels of access a user would need to view the dashboard/report

  • Access to the dashboard
  • Access to the report(s)/widget(s)
  • Access to the underlying data on the report (i.e Incident, Task, sc_req_item tables)
