We tried to implement Catalog Builder for CSM and HRSD but Catalog builder seems geared more towards ITSM so we have been having problems. Part of the problems for both CSM and HRSD is that we'd like to allow the CB users to identify specific assignment groups, business services, etc for the form they create to utilize. We have created some custom additional data, but when you attempt to 'update' a form you created, the system does not bring in the data you originally used AND servicenow has not been able to give us any information on how the OOB data is populated in CB so we could mimic the actions.
Another issue is that for HRSD, there is not only a record producer, but also a Service Record and HR Template. SN does not provide any way to allow the CB user to set up what needs to be in these records and utilize it both for initial creation of the record producer but for subsequent updates. (Did try some flows to create records, but this does not seem very sustainable for updates) Since we can't retrieve the original data when trying to update (tried working with SN for months with no solution), this is problematic. We can't tell the CB users they can use CB for creating/updating their forms when they really can't.
Does anyone know of an alternative for our partners who would like to make basic forms for CSM and HRSD (without becoming an SN developer).
