Any reason why ${current.variables.term_manager} would not work??

I have an email template, and ${current.variables.term_manager} will not show the manager, the name field is on the user table as well and shows up just fine, the email just shows the code for that line, has anyone encountered such a problem?

i dont think you have to user variables in the syntax... current.fieldname is what ive always done on a mail script
