Articles into the Selected Template Table Instead of the Default kb_knowledge Table

When importing articles, they are currently being created in the kb_knowledge table. I want the articles to be created in the template table if the template knowledge base is selected during the import process.

Essentially, the table where the article is created should be determined based on the selected knowledge base during the import.

Could you please suggest a way to achieve this requirement?

Thank you!

Hi @pabadrian ,

Knowledge articles can be imported using ServiceNow's standard template-based functionality called Easy import. This approach is good if you have sizable articles that must be imported in bulk.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Knowledge > Articles > All. Right-click on the list header and select Import.
  2. Click the Create Excel Template button to generate an import template.AnandKumarP_0-1734854956616.png

  3. Download and fill in the template. The template ships with a Quick Start Guide on the first worksheet tab. Capture all HTML text under the column Text
  4. Upload the template file and click the Uploadbutton. Upon completion, a pop-up window appears with a success message. Click on the Preview Imported Data button to review the imported articles.
  5. Review imported article rows for data accuracy and click on the Complete Importbutton at the bottom of the rows to finalize the import process.
