Auto populate Variable values of one item to another item on submit

Hi All,

We have requirement where in we have a variable "ROLE" on a catalog A   and same variable on another catalog B .

When we submit the catalog A  it needs to auto populate the ROLE values from catalog A  to catalog B after submission.

How do we achieve this .

we already have the functionality in place where in Catalog B opens up in a new window when we submit catalog A
