Barcode scanner not working on mobile UI

I just read Mobile barcode scanning and wanted to try it out.

On the Short Description on the Incident form, I set the attribute "Enable barcode scanner" to true, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried going to $m.do and opening my instance on my phone, so both were using the mobile UI, but the scan icon did not seem to appear.

What did I do wrong?

I am on Geneva Patch 4 and have the attribute available, so why isn't it working?

Are you using the mobile app or browser?



FWIW, he barcode is only supported via the iOS mobile app (not browser.)

I see. That's what I expected Hope the Android app comes soon.


Oh yeah! Android coming soon! I don't have an exact release date, but it's coming.

FYI - I forgot to retroactively comment on this when the app was released. Of course, with Istanbul we will have some nice new enhancements to both IOS and Android mobile apps.
