I just read Mobile barcode scanning and wanted to try it out.
On the Short Description on the Incident form, I set the attribute "Enable barcode scanner" to true, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried going to $m.do and opening my instance on my phone, so both were using the mobile UI, but the scan icon did not seem to appear.
What did I do wrong?
I am on Geneva Patch 4 and have the attribute available, so why isn't it working?

Are you using the mobile app or browser?
FWIW, he barcode is only supported via the iOS mobile app (not browser.)

Is this answer still valid for Paris Release? Can we still not use features of Barcode and Google Maps on Mobile browser ?

Hi,
I had similar issues and it turned out, that my iOS ServiceNow app was not up-to-date.
I had as well configured my iOS location to the "Czech Republic", so ServiceNow app was not available for automatic update. What helped was setting the location to United States and getting the latest version of ServiceNow app.
Since then everything works well. I am looking forward to once ServiceNow app will support QR Code scanning 🙂
Hope this helps,
Vladimir

We had this isse. It's worth noting that there are 'Keyboard Apps' out there on the Google Play Store that contain a barcode scanner in the keyboard. This is working a treat for us on the Android App.

We have had issues with this since Kingston Patch 7. I did tray alternative keybaords in Android, however even iOS does not work any more for us.
