Based on your experience, how do you estimate the story points (Agile development)?

1 SP = 1hr ..or.. you use Tshirt sizing .. or.. any other method?

And when you do the estimation, does it include development, testing, documentation etc or just the development efforts?

@Suggy In my current project, we treat 1SP = 1 hr. However, in the previous project the estimation was based on the T shirt sizing (S,M, L, XL)

Hi @Suggy

Again it depends,

In my current client setup, 1 Story Point (SP) is equivalent to 1 hour.
We decide the effort based on the nature of the story — including its complexity, business impact, and whether it involves customization or configuration

Hi @Suggy ,

Our estimation is based on the story's complexity for an example if it is a Simple SR, mid complex SR or Complex one. Based on how many variables need to be added, whether custom or default workflow will be used, how many UI policies, Client scripts, BR etc needs to be created. If any data migration is required or not etc. We have a template where we have defined like- Simple SR - X hours, Mid complex- Y hours and Complex one - Z hours and it is accepted by client during contract so we always follow this.
