Breakdown not working with formula indicator

I'm encountering a problem with a formula indicator's breakdown by priority in Analytics Hub.

The automated indicators used in the formula display correctly with the breakdown when viewed in Analytics Hub, but the formula indicator (which calculates the % of Security Incidents resolved within SLA) shows no data when I select Breakdowns->Priority (although it works when no Breakdown is applied).

The formula syntax should be correct, not using { }, and data collection is up-to-date.

As the breakdown settings are consistent across all indicators I am really confused why it's working on the automated indicators but not on the formula indicator. Did anyone face a similar issue before?

Hi @pat222 ,

Thanks, can't see any errors sin you configuration. What about the automated breakdown - have you remembered to select "collect breakdown matrix" for both automated indicators.

I encountered the same issue. I used four breakdowns in auto-indicators and formula indicators: priority, assignment group, my assignment group, and business service.

All four breakdowns worked well with auto-indicator; only priority worked with formula indicator. I compared breakdown settings, and they are all the same. I haven't collected the breakdown matrix before. Could it be the cause? If that was true, how would the priority breakdown work?

This issue might be due to the way the formula indicator is set up. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

1. Check the Formula: Ensure that the formula is correctly set up and does not contain any errors. The formula should not contain any curly braces {}.

2. Verify Data Collection: Make sure that the data collection is up-to-date and is running correctly. You can check this in the "Data Collection" section of the Analytics Hub.

3. Check Breakdown Settings: Ensure that the breakdown settings are consistent across all indicators. If there are any discrepancies, this could be causing the issue.

4. Review Indicator Source: The source of the indicator could be causing the issue. If the source is not set up correctly, it could be causing the breakdown to not display correctly.

5. Test with Different Breakdowns: Try applying different breakdowns to the formula indicator to see if the issue persists. If the issue only occurs with the Priority breakdown, it could be an issue with how the Priority breakdown is set up.

6. Contact ServiceNow Support: If you are still unable to resolve the issue, it might be best to contact ServiceNow Support for further assistance. They have access to more detailed logs and can provide more in-depth troubleshooting.

Remember, the breakdowns in the formula indicator should work the same way as they do in the automated indicators. If they are not, there is likely an issue with the setup of the formula indicator or the breakdown settings.
