Kindly also check the scope you are in.
Might be the scope in not global and that may be the reason page is read only for you

Yes; you just need to enable sending and receiving of emails: System Properties-> Email.
I put an email address in the 'Send all mail to this test email address' field.

Hi Tim,
Yes, that page was the first thing I originally tried but, the problem is the page is entirely READ-ONLY. I'm using a free Developer's instance of SN. Does SN completely disallow turning on email notifications on free "Dev" instances? Maybe I'll have to cough up the money to purchase my own instance instead of free? Thank you.

It should work; I am doing this on my developer instance. The fields are not greyed out for me.

Please see my embedded video showing my dev instance. My Dev installs disallows editing any part of the System Properties -> Email form. Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
