Catalog item should be visible only on browse but not under any category

Hello All, We have a Catalog item which needs to be:-Not part of any category and should only reflect on search on portal.

Could you please help how to achieve it.

Any suggestions will highly be appreciable.

But why?  What is the reasoning?  I'm asking because there may be another way to "hide" the item from some users, such as User Criteria, etc...  If we can get some more information from you. we could offer other ideas.
