What is causing the indentation between the label and the currency field?

Currency fields are preceded by the currency type which is a drop-down.  If you are unable to change the currency type, the space for the drop-down / other selections is maintained for form alignment.

Thanks a lot Brad for your help, however, the field I'm referring to is in the demand management module.. currently I'm editing in Form Builder is there another place I should be editing in?

The currency type is internally linked to the currency field, so it won't show up as two separate fields in any form layout method.  If you are not seeing the option to change currency type/denomination, first check System Properties > System Localization in the left nav.  There is a property named "Use a single currency model...." that is probably checked/true.  Unchecking this box will allow other currency codes if that's what you are looking for.
