Challenges or Issues we may get during migration of data using Remote instance Spoke.

Hello team,

I have a requirement to migrate incidents and its related details from instance A to instance B.

I am starting configuration with the help of below article.

ServiceNow Remote Instance Spoke Configuration - Support and Troubleshooting

However, I am new to this topic so wanted to check what type of issues we can face during this migration or any precautions we need to take care.

Also by doing above configuration will it copy every details of a record including attachments from instance A to instance B.

Please suggest.

This is really nice to check this this before starting the migration achivity we did the same few months back and I m glad to share our guidelines for the same. Please find the information below

  1. Data Mapping: The data mapping process needs to be done correctly to ensure that all the fields are mapped correctly in the target instance.

  2. Data Integrity: Ensure that the data is consistent and accurate in the source instance before initiating the migration.

  3. Data Volume: It is important to keep in mind the size of the data being migrated, as large data sets can cause performance issues.

  4. Configuration Management: Ensure that the configurations are consistent in both the source and target instances.

To avoid these issues, some precautions that can be taken are:

  1. Testing: Conduct thorough testing in the test instance before initiating the migration process.

  2. Communication: Ensure that all stakeholders are informed about the migration process and its timelines.

  3. Backup: Take a backup of the source instance before initiating the migration process.

  4. Data Cleansing: Conduct a data cleansing exercise to remove any duplicate or irrelevant data.

  5. Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of the migration process, including the data mapping and configuration management details.

Thanks for your reply. 

I tried implementing the same with the help of few articles available. However, i am facing some issues while creating a flow. Token generated successfully but in flow remote import sets are not coming and hence i am not abel to move forward.

Could you please guide me on this?
