Hello Community,
I am new to the learning community. I have a few questions related to the commnity.
I checked there is some out-of-the-box communities role. (community admin, forum admin, forum moderator, forum user, gamification admin).
I created some groups and assign that role.
Now my Requirement is.
1. As a community admin I can create a forum. From the backend, I was able to create a forum. my question is from the portal side can we create a forum or only we can create a forum backend side?
2. As a community admin can I add forum admin and moderator admin to that particular form that I created.
3. As a forum admin/moderator admin I can create topics to that particular form,
4. with in topic, as a forum admin/moderator I can create questions, answers, submit comments.
5. As a user as I can create questions, answers, submit comments.
how can I do these from the portal side?
it's a bit urgent requirement for me.
Thanks & Regards,
Harsha .

Hi
First I want to recommend my article Setup of Community Roles and Groups
And now let me answer your questions:
- Yes, you only can create new forums in the "Backend". The Community Portal is intended for the users and not administrators.
- Yes, but the administration of Community users and their memberships is quite different.
- Yes, but only as a forum administrator
- Yes, but basically the Community users will do that.
- Yes, but you have to enable the self registration
In my Knowledge Sources To Go you will find a dedicated chapter for Communities with further links to helpful resources.
Kind regards
Maik

Hello Harsha,
Welcome to the community! Let's address your questions regarding community roles, forum creation, and management:
Creating Forums: Typically, the ability to create forums may depend on the platform or software you're using. In many community platforms, creating forums is usually done from the backend by administrators. However, some platforms may offer frontend capabilities for certain administrative tasks. I recommend checking the specific documentation or support resources for your community platform to see if frontend forum creation is supported.
Adding Forum Admins and Moderators: As a community admin, you should have the ability to assign roles such as forum admin and moderator to specific forums. This is usually managed from the backend administrative interface where you can designate users to these roles for each forum.
Creating Topics: Forum admins and moderators typically have the ability to create topics within the forums they manage. This can usually be done from the frontend interface once logged in with the appropriate permissions.
Managing Topics, Questions, Answers, and Comments: Forum admins and moderators can manage topics by creating, editing, and moderating questions, answers, and comments within those topics. This involves using the moderation tools provided by your community platform.
User Contributions: Regular users can also contribute by creating topics, asking questions, providing answers, and submitting comments within the guidelines and permissions set by the forum admins and moderators.
To perform these tasks effectively:
Backend vs. Portal: While backend access is often more comprehensive for administrative tasks, some platforms offer frontend interfaces with specific permissions to perform certain administrative actions.
Documentation and Support: Utilize the documentation and support resources provided by your community platform to understand the exact capabilities and workflows available to community admins, forum admins, moderators, and regular users.
If you have specific platform details or further questions, feel free to provide more details for tailored assistance.
