Configure Global Search to search dotwalk fields in a case

Hi,
We noticed that if an agent searches for tickets created by an employee by their name versus their employee number, it yields different results. If there a way to configure the Global Search so that if the agent searches by employee number it shows all of the cases created by said employee. Example, if I search 001234567 (employee number of John Doe) it provides me all of the tickets that John Doe created?
