Hi,
I need/want to create a new task type to sit against Change_request, can anyone point me in the direction of how to do this please. I've seen a post from a few years ago which referenced a video on how to do this , but that has since been taken down.
Any assistance gratefully recieved.
Regards
John

Can you supply more information? Usually just change tasks (change_task) go against change requests. What are you trying to achieve?

Hi, I'm looking to add specific Impact Assessment Tasks , i would prefer to avoid re-using the change_tasks so i can main seperation between the tasks in the change to reduce confusion and also to enable the capture of different information between the tasks.

I'm not sure I see the value in creating another class (table). Our various change tasks are all distinct from one another by the Brief Description assigned to them by the workflow.
Plus, you can add fields to the change task if you want, and only show them under certain circumstances (such as when the Brief Description = "Impact Assessment").
Perhaps it's the workflow editor that you are looking for. You can use the workflow editor to add new tasks to the workflow, and you can add different task types. And you may have seen a video about using the workflow editor before.

Hi Geoff,
thanks for the response , sorry for the delay in responding I've been off site, I suspected that this would require a new table , but hoped i was wrong, thanks for confirming it. I agree a new table is possibly OTT.
I've used the different titles in the brief description and will look to use UI Polcies etc. I shall see how the user testing goes over the next few weeks and hope to avoid anyything more complex.
Thanks again
John
