Create a visual identification for specific users

I need to create a visual identification like a label that will show when users  have the 'priority" option selected from a custom service offering field i created on the user form on a incident/change/problem request (basically extending from the task table)

 

beneath the caller/customer field add a field message or field that says 'priority' in Red.

  

I think a (onChange) client script will suffice but i was wondering if there's a specific way to write this. I'm not as JavaScript savvy so what all should i include in the code any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you want a UI Policy to display a label when the selected user's service offering is Priority. Choose Show Related Fields to allow drilling down into the service offering. I don't see a need for script here unless you also want to display an InfoMessage that appears temporarily when the selected user changes to one whose offering is Priority.

 

There is a way to display a column icon in views but I cannot remember right now what it's called.
