Creating a UI macro next to a Description field or Journal field

Hi All, 

I created a UI macro ..I can add the UI macro to some fields ,as an example ; short description .But I am not able to add it to the Description or a next to a journal field ,what could be the reason for it .Anyone know ?

Please help
