CSM Simulator Task 11 Define Knowledge Access

Hey,

 

I am stuck on this task: 

 

ABC Corp would like to restrict access to knowledge articles based on products owned by the customers.

As George Warren, a Boxeo employee who has purchased an ACME KX Series KX5000 router, logs in through the self service portal he should only see knowledge articles related to the KX series products.

 

  1. Create and publish a dummy article with some dummy info on KX5000 routers
  2. Enable access to Knowledge Articles based upon product entitlements.
  3. Assign the Acme KX Series router to the created article.

 

I have tried a lot of things but, I am not able to move forward, and when i click on the help link they provide, i am only redirected to a general product documentation note that does not provide med with any help.

 

Can anyone please provide me a step by step or point me in the right direction for this task?

Hi Abook,

 

I hope you have created a new article and enable the properties for product entitlements. there is a field called related products in knowledge article form. add the asked product there and publish. It worked for me.

Thanks for the tip, did not realize that there is a property that I needed to update. Found it by navigating to 

Knowledge Product Entitlements > Properties

A pity that when I Googled "Enable access to Knowledge Articles based upon product entitlements." ServiceNow documentation did not assist me or render a result.

Hello @AbooK , since you were stuck here, you might have completed below task:
Create Account Teams

"John Jason is the Sales Account Manager for ABC Corp.  Tricia Kruss is the Support Manager for ABC Corp.  Whenever a high priority case is created for ABC Corp, John and Tricia should be notified.

As an Admin, create a new responsibility definition for a user Sales Account Manager.  The Sales Account Manager should be a unique responsibility. 

Next, create the ABC Corp account team including John and Tricia with their appropriate responsibilities."

Can you please help me out with this task, I don't get what this particular task is.

I created a new Account Teams Members for each one.
