Custom View is not listed when trying to change the view for user with Role - Admin

Hi All,

I have created a custom view over table - Approvals with Name - "Task_Approvals".

When I attempt to change the view for System Administrator, the custom view - "Task Approvals" is visible in the Context Menu under "View" option.

But when I try to do the same after impersonating a user with "Admin" role, the "Task Approvals" option is not getting listed in the Context Menu   under the "View" option.

Could anyone please provide a helpful solution? Solutions or Suggestions would be highly Appreciated.

Thanks,

Kushal Hora

Check that you haven't restricted the view to a specific user or group.   Having the "admin" role doesn't grant complete visibility to everything.

Hi Kushal,

That's strange. Please navigate to System UI-->View rules and check the Conditions of the particular view. I doubt the issue is because of the View rules. You can also update/create the view rule for the custom view over there and check accordingly.

I hope this helps. Please mark correct/helpful based on impact

david-smith There are no roles defined in the View. Thus, view is not restricted to any specific user or not providing any roles in the views would create an issue?

amlanpal There are no View Rules deployed for the custom view. Would that be causing the issue?

Also, recently there was another surprising issue. When I create a view for Form Layout of a table, the view is not visible for the list layout in the context menu and when I create a view for List Layout, the view is not populated in the context menu for the Form Layout. The above issue is happening for Role - System Administrator and Admin.

Could anyone please help me out with this as well? Would highly appreciate any suggestion.

Could you possibly paste some screen dumps in to show us what you are doing and whereabouts?

I'll have to admit it's not something I've had issues with - I've created new views and set permissions, then impersonated a user and shown that the view is available to them.
