Discovery Scheduled getting cancelled due to max time reach

Hi,
We have few scheduled discoveries getting cancelled because of Max time reached.
Our schedules run every night and max time is 5 hours. Max time is setup for 5 years to avoid discovery running on working hours.
There have been no changes to the instance, not sure what will be the root cause.
We do have Hi case raised with ServiceNow but there is not much progress.
Can someone provide troubleshooting steps to fix or find the root cause?
How to identify CIs/IPs which are responding very slow, causing this issue?
