Displaying alert in Workspace

Is it possible to display a message in a Workspace from an action assignment that has been implemented as a server script? I have configured an action assignment within a List on my Workspace that works as intended, it removes Users from Groups and updates the Users relevant record. I have added a check to the script which looks to see how many Members are remaining in a Group. If only the logged in User remains then an alert needs to be displayed. I'm unsure on how to achieve this or if it can only be done if the action assignment is implemented as a client script.
